logoFor the third year Project Paws Alive has been proudly selected as a charity Partner for the Hero Dog Awards event. We’d like to invite you to submit your Hero Dog for inclusion in the national competition. You and your K9 can be a spotlighted nominee with a chance to share your K9 story. The nominees get flown out to Beverly Hills, CA for the televised award event hosted by the Hallmark Chanel and top-tier celebrities.

Best of all the event brings much needed focus to these hero dogs and the work they do, as well as raises funds for nonprofits like ours. Below is the link to submit your Hero Dog. It’s fast and easy. Also below is more detail about the event.

I won’t be shy in asking that if you do submit, please select Project Paws Alive as your Charity Partner. The Charity Partner of the winning Hero Dogs receive a donation from the American Humane Association to assist with our causes. Project Paws Alive is a nationwide nonprofit that provides protective K9 equipment to underfunded Law Enforcement, Fire/Arson, Search & Rescue, and Military K9 Units nationwide. The American Humane Association Hero Dog Awards® are an annual, nationwide competition that searches out and recognizes America’s Hero Dogs – often ordinary dogs who do extraordinary things, whether it’s saving lives on the battlefield, lending sight or hearing to a human companion, or simply providing the tail-wagging welcome a pet owner relishes at the end of a hard day. Dogs compete in eight different categories for the Hero Dog Awards: Law Enforcement Dogs, Arson Dogs, Service Dogs, Therapy Dogs, Military Dogs, Search and Rescue Dogs, Guide/Hearing Dogs, and Emerging Hero Dogs (the category for “ordinary” dogs who do extraordinary things). The Hero Dog Awards celebrate the powerful, age-old bond between dogs and people – and give recognition to courageous acts of heroism performed by our four-legged best friends.

After voting by the American public, winners in each category are flown to Hollywood with their human friends to attend the American Humane Association Hero Dog Awards® gala in Los Angeles. There they walk the red carpet, are recognized in video tributes, receive their Hero Dog category award statue and mingle with celebrities, both two-legged and four-legged! The 2016 American Hero Dog will then be announced to the world.
